“Roycroft” was Roy’s Croft and extensive and carefully designed home and landscape. (Roy was a Landscape designer and he had an incredible array of rare plants including hundreds of labelled roses from around the world. The brief was to conserve, design and construct a fitting landscape around the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a luxury art deco style apartment complex.
During the design and early works phase; Landstruct was required to catalogue, transplant and label hundreds of plants to be reused in the new landscape. These plants were nurtured through the building process and then successfully re-established in the new landscape.
Landscape construction works include the transplanting and protection of existing plant species, random slate paving, precast concrete paving, exposed aggregate concrete, rock features, fencing, gravel paths, lawn, planting, maintenance, lighting and irrigation.
