Glen Eira Council wanted to replace an existing playground with a new playspace, combining bespoke and natural elements with some propriety playground equipment. The project was to be completed as per Landscape Architectural drawings and specs as well as engineering requirements. A small amount of existing play equipment was to remain.
We worked closely with the clients and the Landscape Architect to bring this project to fruition. All of our staff were inducted to Glen Eira system and required to adhere to Codes of Conduct.
Our extensive experience within the Government and Education sectors allowed us to maintain our high standards of WHS and Environmental site management. This location attracted heavy foot traffic from McKinnon High School and a high use park/reserve area nearby so it was integral to ensure safety and compliance at all times. Our dedicated staff worked through a cold, wet time of the year, in order to meet Council deadlines.
The playspace has a massive 8m tower and slide and a dual flying fox, it has a 5-way swing and a Bespoke Tree House built by our own Landstruct team – using screw piles and certified timbers. Along with other spinning and some static elements the playspace is extremely popular and Glen Eira staff are very happy with the results.
McKinnon Reserve playspace is favourited in the community and loved by all age groups. The Council subsequently engaged Landstruct for the Stage 2 works on the adjacent site.
